Where to travel in September and October: six destinations in season

Praia de Nungwi em Zanzibar

Some destinations are wonderful year-round. Others become even more rewarding when you choose the right time. At DLN Travel, planning begins with both where and when you want to travel. Weather, rainfall, temperature and available experiences can change the journey.

Six ideas for September and October

Zanzibar is generally within its dry season from June to October. Combine beaches with Stone Town and local culture, adapting the route to the time you have.

South Africa brings together Cape Town, the Winelands and safari. Spring is beginning around the Cape; the right reserve and itinerary make all the difference for wildlife viewing.

Bali is generally in its usual dry season between April and October. Ubud, culture, beaches and wellbeing can fit into a relaxed trip.

Mauritius is entering a generally drier period between September and November. It can suit a beach break, honeymoon or family trip.

Peru remains a good choice for Cusco, the Sacred Valley and Machu Picchu. Allow time for transfers and for experiences beyond its best-known landmark.

Chile offers the contrast of desert, cities and wine valleys. Flowering in parts of the Atacama region depends on natural conditions and should be confirmed close to departure.
